Our House is a Very Very Very Fine House!

It's the moment you all have been waiting for........ the unveiling of our house! Ok so maybe we are the only ones who are super excited for this stage in our life. It all started when a few people asked us why we don't buy a house. That started our wheels turning so we met with a good friend of ours who happens to be a realtor. When we walked in to his office we honestly thought we would turn around and walk out 5 minutes later because he would tell us we just weren't ready yet. However, he told us the opposite. He told us that we would be stupid not to buy right now, so we started looking at homes. After a few weeks of looking, we had scheduled with our realtor to see 10 homes all in about 3 hours. Our realtor, Chase, had everything mapped out and was on it, until the last house. He got lost and we had to turn around a few times. We then pulled up outside a model home that had just been finished. After scaring the cleaning ladies who were there we were able to look through the house. We fell in love with this house and decided it was the one! So we called the supposed seller. He told us that the one we were in was sold, but there was another one just like it going up around the corner. So we told Chase to put in an offer on it. Later that night he called us and told us that we were in the wrong place and we were at a completely different home than the one that was on his sheet. To make a long story a bit shorter we ended up finding the seller for our house and put in an offer which obviously was accepted and the process was started. We got to pick out our countertops and flooring which was so fun and hard. We were all set up to close on time when Chase called us 2 days before we were supposed to close saying that he couldn't get ahold of our loan officer. Zach and I went to his office only to find out that he went to Mexico on vacation and wouldn't be back for a week. WHAT?! He also screwed up on our paperwork so we got a phone call saying that we didn't qualify so we had been denied. We also got told by our builder that if we didn't close a week after we were supposed to we would be fined. All this happened 2 days before we were supposed to close. Oh ya, and we were headed to Vegas for Zach's work conference 2 days after we were supposed to close. We were livid! We had kept diligently checking on our loan and making sure everything was ok, then this! Finally they got everything worked out, but we still closed almost a month after we were supposed to and luckily we didn't have to pay fines to the builder. We got the keys on a Friday and immediately started moving in! We are so happy here! We LOVE our home! We still have a bit of unpacking and organizing to do, but we are almost there.

This was a few weeks after we found our house. When we found it they only had the foundation poured and a few of the frames up.

This was the next week. We have windows!

Right now we are working on Skyli's room and I'm super excited to reveal it, but you will have to wait! There are a few rooms and things that I don't have a picture of yet, so I will work on another post with all of that another day!
